Get a 10% discount on your plant purchases from the Garden Centre.
Membership is £12.00 per year and members receive a 10% discount on most plants purchased from the Garden Centre (Shrubs, Herbaceous, Alpines, Seeds, Vegetable plants....in fact pretty well everything that will grow!!)
We do not however, further discount, plants that are already on special offer (eg Hedging). We are also not able to give a discount on Christmas Trees.
Joining the Skye Shrubs Garden Centre Club makes very good sense to customers who are likely to spend at least £120 with us on plants during the course of a gardening season. Ideally membership should be taken early in the season as the the discount is given from the date of joining through until December of the same year.
Merely present your card at the till to get your 10% discount taken off. There is no minimum spend on any one visit so enjoy the discount whenever you visit us during the year.
We will also email or write to you regarding events at the Garden Centre including the dates of our annual sale and any changes to our opening hours as the year progresses.

Do you want help in digging out a new flower bed or planting a hedge? Perhaps you need a new path laying or a design for a complete new planting scheme. Maybe it's a general tidy up and replanting of a neglected section of garden.
There are gardeners on Skye who can help you. Services offered vary but include garden design, general garden work, tree work, garden maintenance, full scale garden landscaping projects and lawn mowing. Please contact people listed below directly for more details of what they offer.

Directions coming from the South on the A87 towards Portree
The entrance to the Garden Centre is on the left hand side of the main road as you come down into Portree. Our sign is opposite the filling station. Follow the driveway up towards Viewfield House and ourselves and then turn right into our car park.

Follow the main road south towards Broadford. Look out for the filling station on the left and turn right up the driveway immediately opposite.
Garden Centre on Skye
Situated in beautiful woodland, Skye Shrubs is a small and friendly nursery and garden centre with a huge selection of garden plants and products. We’re located within the grounds of Viewfield House on the southern side of Portree.
We are passionate about gardening and garden plants which can thrive outdoors in Skye’s particular climate. We can give expert advice on a plant's suitability to those who require it and suggest other ideas or alternatives. Our shrubs are mainly maritime, hardy and acid loving plants and the majority of our shrubs are propagated locally in Portree.
Our shrubs are sold in mainly in 2 or 3 litre pots. Early in the season (March and April) is when we have a large stock of Rhododendrons (it's a good time to get them then, before they flower!). Roses are available throughout the season, but best choice is between March and July. We also stock a large selection of Summer Bedding plants - normally available from mid May. Hanging Baskets are made to order and we will plant up any container brought into the Garden centre with bedding. Herbaceous, Alpines and Ornamental Trees are available throughout the season. Some plants are very good at attracting pollinators (Bees and Butterflies). Some plants are not liked by Rabbits. A list of those plants that they prefer not to eat is also available.
Grow your own Fruit and Vegetables
The vegetable plants start in March with seed potatoes and seeds. From April, we have young plants (e.g. lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, courgettes etc.) for sale for planting outside or in a tunnel or greenhouse. Throughout the season, we also have a good range of fruit bushes (e.g. blackcurrant, gooseberry, blueberry) and fruit trees(apple, pear, etc.) plus early, mid and late season strawberry plants.

Usually composts and stones have special offers throughout the season! In the cabin there are fertilisers, chemicals and other sundries to cater for all your gardening needs, it's all here!
Outside there are barrels, containers, frost proof glazed pots, stoneware bird baths, ornaments, outdoor furniture and much more. Just pop in and see what we have to offer.
We also sell and accept National Garden Gift Vouchers. To help with the cost of gardening for the keen gardener, we run a Garden Centre Club which gives you a 10% discount on plants.
Christmas
We open in December to supply you all with Nordmann Fir Christmas Trees. These can be either 'pot grown' or 'cut' trees up to 8 feet high. Collect them from the Garden Centre or get them delivered for a small charge.
